It is rare when I can listen to anything about business for more than five minutes. My brain begins to shut down after a short while especially if I am reading about it. I recall that some of the most difficult illustration pieces I created over the years were for business magazines, because the articles were sooo boring. Of course the articles may have been boring to me, but to someone else who loved the world of business it was sheer bliss! Crazy, but true.

Every so often I come across an insight that connects art and business in an interesting and engaging fashion. This TED talk by career analyst Daniel Pink about motivation parallels some of the principles I teach in my workshop, namely that people are inspired by much more than monetary rewards. The science of the heart compliments, enhances and sustains the growth of your art business.
