December 30, 2011Look at the palms of your hands and recall what you accomplished with them in 2011. At the end of every year I look back at my life to review what I learned, what goals I attained, who I helped, and how I could have made more of a difference. The lines in my palms connect to the lines in yours reminding me we are all in this together, hand in hand on our journey of love, life, art, spirit.
I place my palms together and bow to the compass of your heart. May it guide your creativity, and prosperity in 2012.
Peace
Greg

Hi Greg. Just curious. Have you encountered any artists who have started using “Cash Mobs” to kick start their business? I hear it’s the latest craze, but haven’t heard of any artists giving it a try, as I was wondering if you knew any and could encourage them to share their success stories here. Just trying to learn a little more about it.

HI Amber,
I am a little familiar with cash mobs but do not know of any artists using them. My initial thought on it is that it appears to be much like a launch date for a product. Ultimately the real deal is building your buyer base (fans, patrons, collectors) over time. It generally does not happen over night and why we create a five year blueprint for your business plan in the AAB workshop. Sources such as Kickstarter.com can be used as a similar approach to cash mobs and definitely can work. Create a product around what you love and let the world know you are going to launch it (at least six months to a year before) and you can start to build a buzz around it. If it is with Kickstarter for instance start promoting that you are working toward this crowd funding event. Keep building the curiosity around your project. I hope that helps.
